BKN Head praises South Sulawesi talent management and reviews Gowa official dismissals
The Head of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN), Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, has praised the South Sulawesi provincial government for its rapid implementation of talent management for echelon officials and civil servants (ASN). During an event in Makassar, Prof. Zudan noted that South Sulawesi is a model for other regions outside Java, having achieved 100 percent implementation of talent management. Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman stated that this initiative aims to build a professional, competent, and result-oriented bureaucracy rather than merely fulfilling administrative requirements.
In a separate development in the region, the BKN is reviewing reports regarding the removal of 16 officials by the Regent of Gowa, Sitti Husniah Talenrang. The dismissals reportedly stem from political tensions involving a local legislative inquiry and potential impeachment proceedings. While Prof. Zudan clarified that regional heads hold the legal authority to appoint or dismiss officials under Law Number 20 of 2023, he emphasized that such actions must strictly adhere to established legal mechanisms and regulations.
