Blaž Kraljević: Commemoration marks 34 years since HOS general's death

Family members, comrades, and veterans gathered in Kruševo near Mostar to mark the 34th anniversary of the death of Blaž Kraljević, a general of the Croatian Defence Forces (HOS).

On August 9, 1992, Kraljević and eight soldiers were killed in an ambush. Historical accounts suggest the ambush was carried out by members of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) special units. Kraljević, a co-founder of HOS in Bosnia and Herzegovina, had been a vocal opponent of the partition of the country and frequently clashed with political leaders from the HDZ BiH, such as Mate Boban.

During the commemoration, HOS war commander Stanko Primorac Ćane stated that families are still seeking justice, noting that no one has been held legally accountable for the crime after more than three decades. Primorac announced that a new legal proceeding is expected to become public soon.
