Béla Slánicz appointed head of Hungarian State Treasury

Finance Minister András Kármán has appointed Béla Slánicz as the new head of the Hungarian State Treasury (MÁK), effective September 28. Slánicz succeeds Zsolt Demkó-Szekeres.

Slánicz, who brings over 20 years of executive experience in insurance, pension funds, and digital transformation, is tasked with several key mandates. These include modernizing the outdated pension payment system, increasing the speed and flexibility of payments, and strengthening IT security to address current vulnerabilities.

Additionally, the Minister emphasized the need for responsible management to eliminate wasteful and overpriced procurement, specifically aiming to reduce the costs of IT services while expanding the range of available providers.
