Black Alliance for Peace calls for boycott of 2026 FIFA World Cup in United States

The Black Alliance for Peace (BAP) has urged the international community to boycott the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in the United States. The organization argues that the U.S.'s record of human‑rights violations—including actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, alleged war crimes, and support for conflicts such as the crisis in Cuba and the war in Gaza—makes it an illegitimate host.

BAP’s director Ajamu Barka stated that the tournament “normalizes genocide, internal repression, militarism and death,” and called for the event to be moved out of the United States, a request that was previously ignored. The alliance is asking governments, NGOs and fans to withdraw support and participation, positioning the boycott as a moral response to what they describe as ongoing U.S. violations of international law.
