Black Asteroids qualify for inaugural FIFAe Continental Championship Africa

Ghana’s eFootball team, the Black Asteroids, has qualified for the inaugural FIFAe Continental Championship Africa. The tournament will be held in Casablanca, Morocco, from August 27 to 29, with the eFootball Console competition specifically scheduled for August 28.

The team secured its position through a rigorous FIFAe Nations League campaign. After finishing ninth in the initial qualifying week, the Black Asteroids improved their standing to finish seventh in the final qualifying phase with 425 Consistency Points. This performance earned them one of eight available slots on the continent.

Ghana will compete against Morocco, Madagascar, Tunisia, Senegal, Libya, Kenya, and Egypt in a single round-robin league format. The top two teams will advance directly to the semi-finals, while those finishing third through sixth will enter the quarter-finals. The tournament serves as a pathway toward the FIFAe World Cup 2026. Head coach Emmanuel Lawson noted that the qualification is a reward for the team’s discipline and commitment as they aim to make history for Ghanaian esports.
