Black Bear Minerals reports higher silver grades at Shafter project

Black Bear Minerals has reported significantly higher silver grades at its Shafter Silver Project in Texas following a re-assay program of historical drill core. The re-analysis utilized modern four-acid digestion techniques, which provided more accurate results than the two-acid digestion used in previous historical testing.

A standout result from hole S-12-403 returned 9.1 metres at 1,043 grams per tonne silver, including a high-grade interval of 0.6 metres at 2,990 grams per tonne. This represents a 133% increase in the internal interval grade and a 30% increase in contained silver compared to original historical results.

Beyond silver, the multi-element analysis has revealed a polymetallic dimension to the project that was largely absent from previous datasets. The company identified gold grades up to 0.8g/t, as well as lead and zinc potential. CEO Dennis Lindgren stated that the Shafter project “continues to surprise on the upside” as the company works toward a maiden JORC resource estimate.
