Black Ferns defeat France in second test match
The New Zealand Black Ferns secured a 31-12 victory over France at Semenoff Stadium in Whangarei, following their dominant 81-12 win the previous week. While the French side showed significant improvement by remaining competitive for nearly an hour, they ultimately succumbed to the Black Ferns in the second half.
France took an early lead in the sixth minute through a try by Lazarko, supported by an aggressive defensive performance. However, Mererangi Paul equalized for New Zealand in the 17th minute. Although Grando extended the French lead shortly after, the Black Ferns regained control with a try by Tuliau-Tua'a in the 30th minute.
Black Ferns midfielder Sylvia Brunt noted the team's growing mental strength and connection, stating, “I think we are more connected than we have ever been.” The two teams are scheduled to meet for a third test match in one week.
