Black Ferns defeat Wallaroos 66-19 to retain Laurie O'Reilly Cup
The New Zealand Black Ferns secured a 66-19 victory over the Australian Wallaroos at Auckland's Go Media Stadium, retaining the Laurie O'Reilly Cup. The win extends New Zealand's unbeaten streak against Australia to 31 consecutive matches dating back to 1994.
In the Wallaroos' milestone 100th Test match, New Zealand established dominance early with four unanswered tries. Key performances included lock Maama Mo’onia Vaipulu and fullback Braxton Sorensen-McGee, who both scored. Debutants Shyrah Tuliau-Tua’a and Amarante Sititi also contributed tries for the Black Ferns.
Despite the debut of Maddison Levi for Australia, the Wallaroos struggled with defensive errors and penalties. Australia managed two tries through Waiaria Ellis and Brittany Merlo, but were unable to overcome the relentless New Zealand offense.
