Black Forest Labs releases FLUX 3 Image Klein AI model

Black Forest Labs has launched FLUX 3 Image Klein, a 5.6-billion-parameter open-weights model designed for text-to-image generation and image editing. The model supports up to 10 image references for guided outputs, bounding-box layout control, and native resolutions up to 4K.

To ensure accessibility, the model is optimized for consumer hardware. Quantized variants allow it to run on GPUs with as little as 8 GB of VRAM, with an INT8 build capable of generating images in under 9 seconds on an NVIDIA RTX 4070. The release includes base models for developers, distilled versions for low latency, and various quantized formats.

The model is distributed under the FLUX Kommunity License, which permits free commercial use for individuals and businesses with annual revenues under $5 million. Larger organizations must utilize paid API access or self-hosted licensing. FLUX 3 Image Klein is available via Hugging Face, GitHub, and the BFL API, and integrates with frameworks such as ComfyUI and Diffusers.
