Black Forest markets attract visitors in 2026

The annual Elzach market, now in its ninth edition, gathered about 80 exhibitors showcasing a blend of traditional Black Forest craft and contemporary design. Highlights included hand‑made furniture from Holzkind, artisanal soaps, reclaimed‑wood furniture, and literary works by local author Ines Parizon. The two‑day event featured live music, a folk band, a dance troupe and activities for children.

Across the wider Hochschwarzwald, five Nature‑Park markets are scheduled from August to October 2026. The series opens on 9 August at Feldberg to mark the 25‑year anniversary of the Haus der Natur, followed by markets in St. Georgen (20 Sept), Todtnau (27 Sept), St. Blasien‑Menzenschwand (4 Oct) and Hinterzarten (18 Oct). Each market emphasizes regional food and drink—such as local honey, cheese, bread and spirits—hand‑crafted goods, and cultural programming including music and children’s activities.
