Black Forest tourism reaches record highs in 2025

The Black Forest tourism industry has reached record levels, according to data discussed by CDU state parliamentary member Katrin Schindele and Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH (STG) Managing Director Hansjörg Mair.

In 2025, the region recorded 9.3 million guests and 23.4 million overnight stays. The tourism sector generates an annual gross turnover of more than eight billion euros and is directly linked to approximately 125,000 jobs. The discussion focused on the economic importance of the region, innovative hotel concepts, and the international marketing of the ‘Black Forest’ brand to sustain this growth through 2026.
