Black Hills State women's soccer splits recent matches

The Black Hills State University women's soccer team recently faced two significant matches, resulting in one loss and one victory.

In a marquee matchup against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), the Yellowjackets suffered their first setback of the 2026 season. UCCS secured a 1-0 victory following a goal by Luka Johnson just 51 seconds into the match. Despite outshooting the Mountain Lions, Black Hills State was unable to equalize.

In a subsequent game, the Yellowjackets secured a 2-1 win over the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks. Although the Mavericks took an early lead in the fifth minute via a goal by Parker Mairs, Black Hills State responded with a goal in the 52nd minute to tie the match and eventually secured the win. This victory improved the Yellowjackets' record to 7-1-3.
