Black Jack 100 leads line honours in Rolex Middle Sea Race
Black Jack 100, skippered by Tristan Le Brun, has taken a significant lead in the battle for line honours during the 47th Rolex Middle Sea Race. As the fleet races west along the north coast of Sicily, the maxi yacht has established a 25-nautical-mile advantage over its primary competitors, Louis Balcaen’s Mills 72 Balthasar and Giovanni Lombardi Stronati’s Wallyrocket 71 Django 7X.
While Black Jack 100 leads on the water, the estimated IRC time correction rankings present a different competitive landscape. As of 16:00 CEST on Day 2, Balthasar holds the top position in the IRC 1 standings, followed by Django 7X and Black Jack 100.
The early stages of the race have been characterized by tactical challenges, including light winds and shifting pressure through the Strait of Messina and around Stromboli. Other notable performers include the Hungarian yacht Wild Joe, which is currently running third on the water.
