Black Marble to release fifth album ‘Life in Small Spaces’

Chris Stewart, performing as Black Marble, is set to release his fifth album, ‘Life in Small Spaces’, on 21 August 2026 through Sacred Bones Records. The album marks a sonic shift from the dense synthesizer layers of previous works toward staccato guitar lines and metronomic drum samples, drawing comparisons to post-punk and indie dance influences.

Ahead of the release, a music video has been debuted for the single ‘It Always Comes to Me’. The track explores the character of a person who uses charm or deceit to evade consequences. The video, directed by Claes Nordwall, features Stewart moving through various urban settings in New York.

Stewart has described the album as a commentary on artistic autonomy and a rejection of corporate music industry standards. Following the release, Black Marble will embark on a North American tour, beginning on 22 August in Santa Ana, California.
