Black Queens host Mauritius in Olympic football qualifier
The Ghana women's national football team, the Black Queens, will host Mauritius in the second leg of the second round of Olympic qualifiers for the Los Angeles 2028 Games. The match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 15:00 at the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi-Takoradi.
Ghana enters the fixture with a 3-0 advantage following a decisive first-leg victory at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex in Mauritius. Goals in the first leg were scored by Abigail Kim, Alice Kusi, and Benedicte Simon. The winner of this two-legged tie will advance to the third round of the qualifying process.
Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren and his squad have arrived in Takoradi and completed training sessions in preparation for the match. While the coach may maintain the core lineup that secured the initial lead, rotations may be used to provide playing opportunities to other squad members.
