Black Sea maritime attacks kill crew and damage vessels

A Ukrainian drone strike in Taganrog Bay on the Sea of Azov hit four vessels, including a methanol‑laden tanker, killing one seaman. Russian officials said air‑defence units shot down 178 drones that night and that there was no risk of a methanol spill, but the attack raised concerns about the safety of commercial shipping in the region.

Separately, a Russian strike on a Panama‑flagged cargo ship in the Black Sea killed three crew members, among them an Egyptian seaman. The attack was described by Ukrainian officials as part of Russia's broader campaign to disrupt civilian maritime traffic, increasing the risk to neutral vessels navigating the contested waters.
