Black Sea region highlights cultural festivals and therapeutic sands

The Black Sea region of Turkey is highlighting unique cultural and natural attractions to bolster tourism. In Uzungöl, the third annual ‘Seyir Gecesi’ (Viewing Night) event was held to preserve local Black Sea traditions. The festival focused on passing down musical heritage, specifically the kaval (flute) and tulum (bagpipe) cultures, through performances by local masters.

Meanwhile, in Ünye, the coastline is gaining attention for its unique magnetic sand, referred to as ‘black gold.’ Retired geophysics engineer Orhan Yiğit reports that the sand contains 20 different minerals that create a high-frequency energy resonance. This natural phenomenon is being utilized for therapeutic purposes, with visitors traveling long distances to walk on the sand to help alleviate stress, rheumatism, and sciatica.
