Black Stars players call for fan support ahead of Gambia match

Ghanaian national football players Brandon Thomas-Asante and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku are calling for strong fan support ahead of the Black Stars' upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against The Gambia.

The plea follows a 2-0 defeat to Cote d'Ivoire in Bouake, which left Ghana at the bottom of Group C. The squad has faced significant challenges, including the absence of key attacking players such as Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo due to injuries or other factors.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29. While Ghana seeks to recover its standing in the qualifiers, The Gambia enters the fixture with momentum following a 2-1 victory over Somalia.
