Black Starting Quarterbacks Projected for 2026 NFL Season
The NFL’s history of Black quarterbacks includes several breakthrough moments. Marlin Briscoe became the modern era’s first Black starting quarterback in 1968 with the Denver Broncos. James “Shack” Harris was the first Black quarterback to start and win a playoff game in 1974 for the Los Angeles Rams.
