Black Storm aims for win in Caulfield Heath handicap

Trainer Tim Fitzsimmons, based in Bendigo, has brought several former Singapore racehorses to Australia after racing ceased on the island. Among them, the gelding Black Storm, who won two of nine starts in Singapore and added four more victories in Australia, is targeting the Ladbrokes Mega Multi Handicap (1500 m) at Caulfield Heath on Saturday.

Fitzsimmons highlighted Black Storm’s consistency, noting the horse missed his four‑year‑old season in Singapore due to a foot problem but returned strong. The horse will be ridden by apprentice jockey Holly Durnan, who will claim a 3 kg weight allowance. Black Storm’s recent form includes leading before being overtaken by Run Harry Run in the Mildura Cup and a ninth‑place finish over 1700 m at Caulfield.

Fitzsimmons believes the 1500 m distance at Caulfield Heath suits the horse, offering a chance to continue his streak in second‑tier country cup races over the next six months.
