Black Swamp Arts Festival returns to Bowling Green

The 33rd annual Black Swamp Arts Festival is scheduled to take place from September 11-13 in downtown Bowling Green. The free community event features live music, food trucks, local vendors, and fine art, including paintings, jewelry, ceramics, and sculptures.

This year’s theme is “The Blended Two: Blending Two Genres into One.” Activities include a Chalk Walk competition for teen artists and hands-on creative sessions at the Kiwanis Youth Arts Village. The festival provides a platform for artists and offers scholarships.

The musical lineup includes over thirty performances. Due to touring issues with two previous acts, the Saturday, September 12, Main Stage schedule has been updated. The Shane Guerrette Band will perform at 4:30 p.m., followed by Chicago bluesman Toronzo Cannon at 8 p.m. Other scheduled performers include Sankofa Sounds, The Go Rounds, Leadfoot Granny, Paul McDonald and the Mourning Doves, and The Motet.
