BlackBerry launches QNX Launchpad for startups
BlackBerry Limited has introduced QNX Launchpad, a new program designed to provide startups and small-to-medium businesses with access to commercial-grade software at startup-friendly costs. The initiative aims to assist early-stage companies in building mission-critical products for sectors such as autonomous mobile robots, robotic arms, and surgical robotics, allowing them to use the QNX Software Development Platform 8.0 from the initial development stages.
This move comes as the QNX segment continues to serve as a primary growth driver for BlackBerry. Analysts have noted the segment's financial strength, citing record Q2 revenue of $80.3 million and an 87% gross margin. BlackBerry has also raised its FY27 QNX revenue guidance to $320 million and secured a design win with Alloy Kore, which is expected to add over $100 million to the royalty backlog.
