Blackbird film adaptation of Matthias Brandt novel to premiere on ARD Mediathek
The coming-of-age film 'Blackbird' is set to be available on the ARD Mediathek starting Wednesday, September 23. The film is an adaptation of the 2019 debut novel by actor Matthias Brandt.
Directed by Max Zähle with a screenplay by David Ungureit, the story follows 15-year-old Morten, known as 'Motte' (played by Timothy Scannell), growing up in the West German provinces during the late 1970s. The narrative explores themes of love, friendship, and mortality as Motte navigates adolescence while his best friend battles cancer.
