Blackie Lawless Confirms New W.A.S.P. Music and Upcoming Memoir
W.A.S.P. frontman Blackie Lawless told This Day In Metal that the band has been working on new material for about three years, despite an intense touring schedule that spans North America, South America and Europe. He explained that record sales no longer fund bands and that touring now provides the primary income, making studio time scarce. Lawless also mentioned a back injury and surgeries that gave him extra time to review demos recorded during recent tours.
In addition to the music, Lawless is writing a memoir titled *Tales From The Square Mile*, which he says will detail his early life in Hollywood and its influence on the music industry. He estimates the book will be finished by the end of 2026, noting that the research phase has been as demanding as producing an album.
