Blackmagic Design raises prices on 36 products due to memory costs
Blackmagic Design has implemented immediate price increases across 36 products, citing the rising cost of memory components such as DRAM, flash, and SSD storage. The company stated that memory manufacturers are shifting production to supply AI data centers, causing demand to reach approximately double the levels seen during the COVID-19 shortages.
The price adjustments affect items including ATEM switchers, SMPTE 2110 IP converters, DeckLink cards, HyperDeck recorders, and Cloud Store network storage. Notably, the ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP Plus will see an increase of $6,965, rising from $12,995 to $19,960. The Blackmagic 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G also saw a significant percentage increase, rising from $515 to $925.
These changes apply to new orders only; existing customer backorders will be fulfilled at the original prices. The price hikes do not include Blackmagic cinema cameras. The company noted that while they previously maintained lower prices using existing stock, they must now adjust for parts purchased at current market rates.
