Blackmagic Design releases DaVinci Resolve 21.1 with AI integration

Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve 21.1, introducing significant AI capabilities and over 100 new tools across its editing, color, Fusion, and photo pages. A major highlight is the integration of a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which allows users to connect external AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT directly to the software to execute commands via natural language.

The update also brings substantial improvements to the Photo page, including expanded camera support for Fujifilm GFX and X-series, Leica SL, and Sony Alpha 7R VI. Users of the paid Studio version can now utilize tethering for these cameras to control settings like ISO and exposure directly within the interface. Additionally, the update enhances RAW processing, improves DNG file corrections for distortion and chromatic aberration, and expands the Sky Replacement ResolveFX effect.

Notably, Blackmagic has moved the Python-scripting API exclusively to the DaVinci Resolve Studio version. The update is available for download on Windows, macOS, and Linux, with the core features remaining free for existing users of both the free and Studio versions.
