BLACKPINK members apologize after 10th anniversary controversy

BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa addressed fans following controversy surrounding the group’s 10th-anniversary celebrations. The backlash stemmed from a meet-and-greet at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul, which was criticized for poor organization, lack of clear communication regarding schedules and locations, and a limited capacity of only 40 attendees.

During a subsequent livestream, Jisoo apologized on behalf of the group, citing internal miscommunication as the reason for the scaled-back plans. She expressed regret that the milestone was not celebrated on a larger scale as originally intended. Jisoo also addressed speculation regarding her emotional reaction at the event, explaining that she was moved by the group’s ten-year journey and asking fans to stop spreading baseless rumors about group discord.

The group emphasized their continued unity and affection for their fanbase, BLINK, despite the logistical issues. The anniversary comes at a time when fans have also noted the group’s relatively limited discography compared to their global influence and the high volume of individual solo projects released by the members.
