Blackpool's Lightpool Festival celebrates 10th anniversary

Blackpool’s Lightpool Festival returns this October half term, running from Wednesday, 21st October to Saturday, 31st October 2026, to celebrate its tenth anniversary. The public light-art festival features 30 artworks staged across various indoor and outdoor venues throughout the town.

The event includes ten new artworks, some of which are world premieres, such as ‘In Love with My Dynamic Soft Elephant’ by Chila Kumari Singh Burman MBE and ‘The Ballroom’ by Doddz Presents. Other notable additions include ‘Super Magic Stone Circle’ by Daniel Kurniczak, ‘Crystal Tide’ by Anne Bennett, and ‘What the Gull?!’ by Caroline Daly, alongside a piece by students from the Blackpool School of Arts.

While the light art trail and community activities are free, the Carnival Magic show at the Tower Ballroom on 26th October will require a small fee of under five pounds. The festival aims to build on Blackpool’s Illuminations heritage by bringing together local and international artists.
