BlackRock advises 1‑2% Bitcoin allocation and moves $218 M of crypto to Coinbase
BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, said that allocating between one and two percent of a portfolio to Bitcoin can enhance returns while preserving overall risk. The firm described Bitcoin as a complementary diversifier that can improve portfolio efficiency without upsetting risk tolerance.
Separately, BlackRock transferred roughly 3,410 BTC and 5,132 ETH – valued at about $218 million – to the Coinbase Prime platform in a series of seven transactions on 25 June. Analysts noted the timing follows recent outflows from the firm’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, suggesting the moves may be linked to ETF activity rather than an outright sale.
The combined statements highlight BlackRock’s continued engagement with digital assets, both as an investment recommendation and as an operational holder of large crypto positions.
