BlackRock Ethereum ETFs see significant outflows and inflows

BlackRock's Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have experienced contrasting market movements. On September 16, US-listed spot Ethereum ETFs saw total outflows of $224 million in a single session. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) recorded the largest single-day redemption of $110.03 million, a move coinciding with market reactions to the Federal Reserve's first interest rate hike in three years.

In contrast, BlackRock's Ethereum staking ETF (ETHB) has demonstrated sustained institutional demand. Between July 28 and September 11, the fund captured $307.72 million in inflows over twenty consecutive sessions without net redemptions. The ETHB fund has surpassed $1 billion in assets, with approximately 74.55% of its portfolio—valued at $802.9 million—dedicated to staking to generate additional yields. While ETHA focuses on replicating the price of ether, ETHB allocates between 70% and 95% of its assets to staking.
