BlackRock Gains Additional Shares as Bank of America Increases Stake

Bank of America Corp raised its holdings in BlackRock Inc. by 35,069 shares in the first quarter, bringing its total to 5,232,973 shares, or about 3.37% of the asset manager and valued at roughly $5.03 billion. Other institutional investors also expanded their positions: Corient Private Wealth LLC increased its stake by 5.19%, Norges Bank opened a new $2.74 billion position, Oak Harvest Investment Services added 12,176 shares, Auto Owners Insurance Co added 106,934 shares, and Wellington Management Group LLP boosted its holdings by 200.5%. Together, institutional investors now own about 80.69% of BlackRock’s stock. In parallel, BlackRock is co‑investing in a major AI infrastructure project, holding an 80% stake in a roughly $14 billion, 1‑gigawatt data‑center campus in El Paso, Texas, contributing about $4.9 billion in cash and arranging up to $12.5 billion of project debt.
