BlackRock official compares Bitcoin's long-term role to gold

BlackRock digital assets head Robbie Mitchnick suggests Bitcoin is evolving from a purely risky asset into a potential hedge against public debt, deficits, and currency erosion, behaving more like gold. This shift is supported by a decreasing correlation between Bitcoin and the Nasdaq, which has dropped to approximately 0.3 from previous highs of 0.9.

Despite this long-term institutional narrative, the market faces immediate volatility. Bitcoin recently failed to maintain the $80,000 threshold after reaching a peak of approximately $81,455. The price has seen fluctuations, dropping toward the $76,000 range, with significant liquidity zones and sell orders identified between $80,800 and $83,000. Market pressure has also been influenced by recent economic commentary from Kevin Warsh.
