BlackRock raises stake in Indra to 3%, lifting Spain's Ibex 35 to record highs
BlackRock disclosed a new indirect holding of about 3.0% in Spanish technology and defence group Indra, valued at roughly €315 million and representing around 5.3 million shares, plus an additional 0.365% through financial instruments. This is the first time the US asset manager has revealed a position in the company. Indra's other major shareholders include the state-owned SEPI (28%), Sapa Placencia (7.94%) and Amber Capital (7.24%). The firm reported net profit of €219 million in the first half of 2026, a modest 2.1% rise year‑on‑year. The announcement helped the Ibex 35 reach new all‑time highs, supported by falling oil prices after progress in US‑Iran talks on the Strait of Hormuz, stable Brent around $80 per barrel, unchanged central‑bank rates and strong corporate earnings across Europe. Other Ibex gainers such as Puig and Naturgy also contributed to the rally.
