BlackRock reaches $15.3 trillion AUM, Bitcoin ETFs hold 3% of supply
BlackRock reported assets under management of $15.3 trillion (¥2,400 trillion) for the June 2026 quarter, surpassing the $15 trillion milestone for the first time. Net inflows reached $191.7 billion, boosting net profit 20% year‑over‑year. The growth was led by strong demand for its iShares ETFs, which now hold over $6 trillion in assets, and by inflows into its cryptocurrency exchange‑traded funds. The Bitcoin ETF IBIT holds about 3.66% of all Bitcoin, while the Ethereum ETF ETHA holds roughly 2.32% of the Ether supply. BlackRock’s shares jumped up to 8% after the earnings release.
In Japan, recent amendments to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act cleared the way for domestic crypto ETFs to list on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, with potential listings as early as 2027. Japanese firms such as Nomura and SBI are already exploring ETF creation, reflecting the global expansion of BlackRock’s digital‑asset offerings.
