Blacksmith reaches $1 billion valuation after $66 million Series C
San Francisco-based startup Blacksmith has achieved a unicorn valuation of $1 billion following a $66 million Series C funding round. The round was led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from Premji Invest, Peak XV Partners, Google Ventures, and Y Combinator.
Blacksmith provides a specialized cloud platform for automated software code building and testing. The company offers high-performance cloud runners and caching tools designed to serve as a faster, more cost-effective alternative to tools like GitHub Actions. The startup's valuation has grown rapidly, doubling from $550 million during its Series B round just two months prior.
To meet rising enterprise demand, Blacksmith plans to expand its compute capacity fivefold by 2027. The company currently manages approximately 10 MW of compute footprint across data centers in the United States and Europe and serves a large global customer base, including companies such as Supabase and Expensify.
