Blacktown Aquatic Centre to undergo $77.2 million redevelopment
The Blacktown Aquatic Centre will close on 11 October to begin a $77.2 million redevelopment. To mark the end of the 65-year-old facility’s current era, the community will host a ‘The Last Splash’ celebration featuring free entry, live music, face painting, and pool inflatables.
Funded by the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) Program, the project aims to create a modern, inclusive aquatic facility. The upgrades will include a new indoor 50-metre pool, a 25-metre program pool for swim lessons, a refurbished outdoor 50-metre pool, an expanded splash pad, and improved health and fitness facilities.
