Blackview unveils PlayPop 8 motion-based gaming console

Blackview has introduced the PlayPop 8, a motion-based family gaming console, at IFA 2026. The device is designed to eliminate the need for traditional handheld controllers by using an integrated 12-megapixel camera and AI-driven body tracking technology. The system can track up to 17 body points to translate physical movements into in-game actions in real time, supporting up to four simultaneous players.

Technically, the cube-shaped console features an eight-core Rockchip RK3576 processor built on a 6nm process, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. It runs on Android 14 and supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. To ensure privacy, Blackview states that body tracking data is processed locally on the device rather than being sent to external servers, and the camera includes a physical shutter.

The PlayPop 8 connects to televisions via HDMI and offers a variety of game categories, including fitness, music, dance, action, and adventure. While five games are available for free offline upon unboxing, the company also offers a PlayPop GamePass subscription for expanded content and regular quarterly updates.
