Blagoevgrad Municipality approves EU funding projects for education and zoo conservation

The Blagoevgrad Municipal Council has approved two proposals from Mayor Metodi Baikushev aimed at securing European funding for local development projects.

The first initiative focuses on enhancing dual education at the ‘Vasil Levski’ Professional High School of Construction, Architecture and Geodesy. The project seeks to align vocational training more closely with labor market demands by providing students with practical skills in real working environments, internships, and updated curricula. It also includes modernizing the school's educational facilities.

The second initiative targets the modernization of the Blagoevgrad Zoo to improve the conservation of endangered and protected species. The proposed funding will support better breeding, feeding, and veterinary care conditions that meet the biological requirements of the animals. Additionally, the project aims to strengthen the zoo's educational role by informing visitors about biodiversity and habitat conservation.
