Blake Betton flips commitment from Penn State to Wisconsin

Three-star linebacker recruit Blake Betton has announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers, flipping his previous commitment to Penn State. Betton, a Shakopee, Minnesota, native, is ranked as the No. 35 linebacker in the Class of 2027 according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Betton, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs approximately 205 pounds, brings a unique skill set to the Wisconsin defense. Having previously played safety and wide receiver at Shakopee High School, he recorded nine interceptions over the last three seasons, including two in a single game during the Class 6A state semifinals.

This recruitment marks a significant win for Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell, as Betton held offers from several other Big Ten programs. For Penn State, this is the second departure from the 2027 recruiting class following quarterback Will Wood's commitment to Boston College.
