Blake Griffin launches sports comedy series The Stepback

Former NBA star Blake Griffin has launched a new original series titled ‘The Stepback with Blake Griffin,’ which blends late-night comedy with sports commentary. The show is available weekly on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video.

Inspired by programs such as ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,’ the series aims to move beyond standard game-to-game analysis. Griffin intends to conduct deep dives into significant sports topics, including the economics of sports betting, athlete empowerment, NIL, analytics, and the impact of hot-take culture on fandom. The first episode focuses on the state of sports journalism.
