Blake Miller earns praise in Detroit Lions preseason debut

NFL analysts, including former player Brian Baldinger and Geoff Schwartz, praised Miller’s performance. Baldinger noted that the rookie ‘looked like he belongs’ in the NFL, highlighting a clean performance without sacks or penalties. Schwartz observed that Miller’s pass protection looked clean and that he moved his feet well, though he noted some struggles with sustaining movement in the run game early on.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed satisfaction with the rookie’s ability to handle his responsibilities. Campbell noted that he did not feel the need to focus on Miller during the game, which he viewed as a positive sign that the player was ‘handling his business.’ Miller is expected to compete for the starting right tackle position this season.
