Blanca Romero reflects on her history as a model and beauty

Actress and former model Blanca Romero shared reflections on her relationship with beauty during an interview on the RTVE program ‘Plano general’. Romero described herself as a ‘slave to beauty’, explaining that she used her appearance as a shield to mask her childhood shyness.

She noted that beauty can act as an ‘enemy’ because it can lead to being perceived merely as a sexual object. Romero expressed a complex connection to her image, stating that she feels she might lose part of the persona she has built if she loses her beauty, remarking, ‘I need to die being beautiful’.
