Blankenburg imperial post office to host reading festival
The former imperial post office in Blankenburg, Harz, is being repurposed for cultural use. Built in 1905, the building has stood vacant for approximately 20 years since the postal service moved out.
Organizers from the association Kulturmotor Harz are planning a reading festival to revitalize the space. The event aims to utilize the building's unique architecture, including its large foyer and service hall, to create a lounge-like atmosphere for authors and readers. The location has previously served as a film set for various productions, including the ARD crime series ‘Alles Klara’ and ‘Die Schule der magischen Tiere’.
