Blanko Blanuša addresses meeting with Milorad Dodik

Blanko Blanuša, president of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) and its candidate for the presidency of Republika Srpska, has addressed his recent meeting with SNSD leader Milorad Dodik. Blanuša stated that there was “nothing controversial” about the meeting between the leaders of the two largest parties and noted that they discussed various current issues. He indicated there was an agreement for parties from Republika Srpska to maintain a unified approach at higher levels.

Blanuša explained that the meeting was held at a neutral location to avoid the political implications of meeting at the Palace of the Republic or party offices. He also clarified that he did not attend the meeting alone, noting that another SDS official was present to mediate.

In response, SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovačević challenged Blanuša’s transparency. Kovačević questioned why Blanuša’s legal team filed criminal complaints against those who publicized the meeting if it was not intended to be secretive. Additionally, Kovačević raised questions regarding Blanuša’s military service record during the conflict in the 1990s.
