Blansko police find missing girl using mass SMS

A preschool-aged girl was successfully located after disappearing while walking in a forest near Blansko, Czech Republic. The child had been riding a balance bike and traveled approximately 500 meters away from her relative before losing sight of them.

Police launched an extensive search operation involving dozens of officers, a canine unit, and a helicopter. Concerns were heightened by the proximity of a water-filled pit near the disappearance site.

The search concluded rapidly due to the use of a targeted mass SMS system. Minutes after the message—which included a description of the girl and the search area—was sent to residents in the vicinity, a man discovered the child sitting on the steps of his house. The girl was unharmed and was subsequently reunited with her relatives.
