Bleach anime concludes after 22 years with Thousand-Year Blood War finale

Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Studio Pierrot Tite Kubo anime finale

The long-running Bleach anime series officially concluded with the broadcast of the 50th episode of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, titled “DEATH & STRAWBERRY”. The finale features a ten-year time skip following the defeat of Yhwach, showcasing a peaceful Soul Society and the next generation of characters.

Key developments in the finale include the introduction of Kazui Kurosaki, the son of Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue, and Ichika Abarai, the daughter of Rukia Kuchiki and Renji Abarai. The episode reveals that Rukia has ascended to the position of Captain of the 13th Division, with Renji serving as her Lieutenant. Kazui is noted for possessing significant spiritual power, even managing to eliminate the final remnants of Yhwach’s lingering energy.

To celebrate the conclusion of the 22-year journey, Studio Pierrot released special commemorative videos, including a visual retrospective of Ichigo’s evolution and a special ending featuring the iconic track “Number One”. While the anime adaptation has ended, fans remain interested in potential future projects, such as the Hell Arc, which was introduced in a manga one-shot by Tite Kubo.
