Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar criticized the European Union for a lack of political leadership and excessive bureaucracy. He argued that the bloc must decide whether it aims to merely survive or to win, suggesting a shift toward economic competitiveness and defense-industry cooperation. Magyar also addressed the treatment of Hungary by Brussels, stating that the country faces unfairness regarding migration policies and EU court-mandated fines for border protection. He noted that his government has already reduced the national budget deficit by 2.5 billion euros.
