Two foreign hikers, identified as Dutch nationals aged 20 and 21, were seriously injured after falling into a ravine at the Male Osojnica viewpoint near Bled, Slovenia. The accident occurred around 14:33 when a tree branch they were sitting on suddenly broke.
A passing doctor provided immediate first aid at the scene. Emergency response teams, including the Mountain Rescue Service (GRS) Radovljica, the Brnik mountain rescue team, and a helicopter emergency medical team, coordinated the rescue. The victims were airlifted via helicopter to the University Medical Centre Ljubljana.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident. While the injuries are serious, authorities stated that the two individuals are not in life-threatening condition.
