Mörrum political groups propose new library in former bank premises

Following the decision by Sparbanken i Blekinge to close several local branches, including the office in Mörrum, local political groups are proposing a new use for the space.

Representatives from the Moderates, Sweden Democrats, Christian Democrats, and Medborgerlig Samling are advocating for Karlshamn municipality to take over the premises to establish a library. The vision includes a ‘Meröppet’ facility, allowing visitors access even when staff are not present, to provide greater flexibility for residents.

The proposed library is intended to serve as a community hub featuring computers, a news corner, and a children's area, potentially expanding into a small citizen service center to improve local accessibility for families and the elderly.
