Bülent Ersoy faces backlash after concert delay and verbal dispute

Singer Bülent Ersoy faced significant backlash following a concert at the Kuşadası AVM Amphitheater due to a lengthy delay and a verbal altercation with an audience member. The event, originally scheduled for 21:00, was delayed by approximately 1.5 hours due to a generator failure and organizational issues, leading to chaos and arguments among the 3,000 attendees.

Ersoy later explained that the delay was also due to her health; she reportedly received intravenous fluids and medical attention from a team of doctors and nurses before taking the stage. Despite recommendations from producer Burak Tanrısever to postpone the event, Ersoy chose to perform to avoid disappointing her fans.

During the performance, a spectator criticized the delay, prompting Ersoy to respond with profanity. Ersoy defended her actions on social media, stating she was ‘teaching those who do not know their place their place’ and emphasized that she performed despite being ill. The incident drew criticism from other public figures, including singer Aydilge, who remarked that a stage does not grant the freedom to insult the audience.
